Well researched and interesting piec...Dear Veeresh,<br />Well researched and interesting piece.Thanks.<br />Here is a thought..One day they call to man a ship and nobody goes..<br />I remember Cpt Rewari telling us that ultimately even IMO is subservient to the Owner lobby.<br />Unionisation has historically being a deterrent to exploitation,but when one looks at the rag tag and bobtail composition of seafarers at sea,schooled to treat an ITF Inspector as "the enemy",the situation seems unreedemable.<br />And the less said about the goons that abound in the NUSI and MUI the better!I've sailed a fair bit with East Europeans and the mafia is pretty much in place there as well.<br />Such a pity as this could be a beautiful profession.<br />To quote the redoubtable Capt Rewari again:"the two professions where you earn your money with a maximum of dignity are seafaring and farming."<br />Guess we can take seafaring out of that statement now!<br />rgds<br />jaidiptuskerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05381276494954151292noreply@blogger.com
